This outstanding bowl was made by the Indiana Tumbler & Goblet Company in Greentown, Indiana, (often referred to as 'Greentown glass') circa 1899. The original name was 'Greentown #140 Columbia' , aka 'Herringbone Buttress'. This is an amazing pattern with thick, notched ribs on the exterior, and gorgeous details around the rim, and on the scalloped 'feet'. This fabulous, crystal clear bowl measures 7 inches across x 3 7/8 inches tall. In Very Good condition overall, with one smooth shallow flake on the top rim, and a couple small flakes on the feet. There are light surface scratches to be expected after 117 years, and a 'shear mark' in the bottom from the manufacture process, which is entirely normal for this antique glass. This old glass glows yellow-green under uv light to further verify age! This is a beautiful Greentown piece, highly collectible, and hard to find! I promise that you will absolutely treasure this sweet bowl!
