This fabulous pinched waist double egg cup is part of the beautiful, and very scarce, Prairie Mountain Wildflowers pattern, made for the Southern Pacific Railroad dining car service. The "Prairie Mountain Wildflower" pattern was used by The Southern Pacific in the 1930's-1950's, and was made by Onondaga Pottery Co., Syracuse, N.Y. This egg cup is backstamped - "Made expressly for Southern Pacific Dining car service by Onondaga Pottery Co Syracuse, N.Y." It is also noteworthy that this egg cup features the 'Mariposa Tulip', which is not present on all Prairie Mountain pieces. Measures 3 1/2 inches tall x 2 1/2 inches across the top rim. In near-mint condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches, or signs of use! This is a VERY SPECIAL, hard to find, Southern Pacific egg cup! It would make an excellent gift for your favorite collector of Railroad dining car China!
