This Very Sweet, antique Victorian glass Spooner / spoon holder is the Eapg pattern called 'Opposing Pyramids', a.k.a. 'Truncated Prisms' or, 'Flora' made by Bryce, Higbee & Co., circa 1890. This rather hard-to-find, Crystal clear Eapg glass pattern features rows of deeply notched, protruding triangles all around the bottom portion, and an upper portion with clear, etched glass and a charming scalloped rim. The elegant, scrolling script etching reads: "Auntie 1892". Perhaps it was a special gift, or souvenir of a memorable occasion! This Outstanding, antique spooner measures 4 1/2 inches tall X 3 3/8 inches across the scalloped top rim X 3 1/4 inches across the recessed base, which also repeats the pyramid pattern on the very bottom! A gorgeous antique glass spooner In Very Good condition, with only a couple tiny nicks on the protruding pattern near the very bottom - not noticeable at all - and some surface wear/tiny scratches consistent with age. This old glass glows a strong yellow-green color when exposed to uv blacklight, to further verify age! Also has the typical charming attributes of Victorian glass, ie. minor seam lines/roughness, surface cooling/annealing lines, etc. This is a fabulous 120 year-old, etched Glass treasure - You will Love it - OR, it would also make a Wonderful gift for your 'Auntie'!
