This is a Fabulous antique, Dazzling Blue color, Pattern glass Spooner in the Eapg pattern called 'Double Beetle Band', made by Columbia Glass Company of Findlay, Ohio, Circa 1880's. This marvelous, pattern glass spoon holder is in Great Condition - considering it is 120+ year old antique glass - and is a rare piece of Eapg, hard to find - especially in this amazing blue color! This spooner is thick molded glass, it sits on a short stem, and has a gorgeous, fluted pattern in bands all around the top and bottom that really catch the light! The brilliant, bright Blue glass shines and sparkles, and there are No chips or cracks - though it is not perfect: there is 'roughness' all around the inside surface of the top rim (no damage on the outer rim edge) - this may be from time of manufacture, since this spooner has no other damage besides a tiny nick on the bottom fluted edge near the round base foot. Expect the normal Charming characteristics of Victorian era glass manufacturing also, ie. tiny bubbles, mold lines, bits of ash inside the glass, etc. This exceptional, Eapg footed spooner measures 5 inches tall X 3 1/2 inches across the top opening X 3 inches across the bottom of the heavy, round footed base. This old glass glows a strong Lime-green under uv blacklight to further verify age! A Terrific addition to any Victorian Glass collection!
