Eapg 'Beaded Band', Victorian relish pair, Burlington Glass
This is a fabulous pair of antique Eapg relish dishes, or bowls made by the Burlington Glass Co., circa 1884. This is a very elaborate Victorian glass pattern called "Beaded Band" and features a wide border of beaded and stippled bands of ovals and points, a flower-type design on each end, and a large swirling circle in the center, on the round base. Each crystal, clear relish / pickle tray dish measures 8 1/2 inches long X 5 1/4 inches wide in the center X 1 3/8 inches deep. This pair of eapg serving bowls is in Excellent condition - The glass is sparkling with no cloudiness! You will find the usual slight roughness around the rims, and a few 'straw' marks, or 'annealing lines' on the surface - typical of the Victorian era glass manufacture process. (There is just one small, barely detectable flake on the outside rim edge of one bowl - Amazing after 120+ years!) This antique glass glows a strong yellow-green under uv blacklight to further verify age! You will find many uses for this Incredible matching set of eapg relish dishes!
