This charming little antique glass cup with saucer is the eapg pattern called 'Colorado' , or sometimes called 'Jewel'. This eapg pattern was made by the U.S. Glass Company, circa 1898, and was part of their 'States' pattern series. This pretty Eapg glass footed cup with applied loop handle, is a lovely medium green color with gold highlights around the rim and on the three elegant 'jeweled' pattern 'feet'. The 'Colorado' pieces were often used as souvenirs, and this mug is etched with the name 'Helen' in fancy script letters (it was difficult to photograph the etching well!) I acquired this mug with the matching saucer, and, although I had not seen a saucer included with these 'Colorado' pattern cups before - the green color and gold trim are an exact match, and 6 & 8 inch plates are found listed in an older reference book, so I believe this is an original set - and Quite rare to find! The cup measures 2 3/4 inches tall X 3 inches across the top rim. The saucer measures 6 inches across X 3 1/4 inches across the expertly ground, smooth ring base. In Excellent condition, with No chips or cracks, just expected wear to the gold trim around the rim of both pieces, consistent with age, though the cup's 'feet' have most of the shiny gold still remaining! Expect the usual characteristics of antique glass also, ie. 'straw' marks, mold line roughness, tiny bubbles, etc. Really a SweeT antique eapg glass set!
