This is a wonderful Hand-painted creamy, white porcelain 'Nippon' bowl adorned with a wide band of handpainted florals in splendid shades of yellow, blue, green and brown, on a peach background all around the inside top rim, with raised gold 'moriage' details. This gorgeous round bowl sits on three hand-painted, and gold highlighted 'feet'. This is a fine, antique porcelain bowl - very delicate and lightweight - Often called a 'mayonnaise' bowl, though it could be used for anything you desire! The backstamp on the bottom reads: "Hand Painted Nippon" in green and red with a crown in the middle - This crown mark was used between from 1891 to 1921. Measures 6 1/2 inches across X 2 3/4 inches high. In Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or damage, some wear only on the thin gold trim around the very top edge. Unfortunately, my photos do not accurately convey the beautiful colors of this bowl!
