This creamy yellow antiQue custard glass mug was made by A. H. Heisey Co., circa 1896 - 1905. This eapg glass pattern is called 'Punty Band', and was one of the earliest patterns produced by Heisey. A simple - and quite popular - pattern, 'Punty Band' consists of a row of small oval punties, or thumbprints, around the base and the glass is quite weighty, shiny and smooth! Heisey called their yellow colored custard glass "Ivorina verde". This AnTiQue custard glass mug is beautifully handpainted with gorgeous roses, buds and leaves! It is marked with the Heisey diamond H on the inside bottom and glows a Very bright yellow-green under uv blacklight! Victorian custard glass items were Very popular as souvenir items, and this mug has souvenir script lettering that reads "Polar, Wis". Measures 3 1/2 inches tall X 2 1/2 inches across the top rim. In Excellent Condition! No chips or damage, just typical characteristics of Victorian made glass - an occasional ‘straw’, or shear mark, etc. ( a 'shear mark' appears in the photo of the inside bottom - it is NOT a crack! ) An outstanding example of early Heisey custard glass!
