Carnival Federal glass marigold bowl, scarce 'filed rib' pattern
This dazzling antiQue ruffled carnival glass bowl was made by *Federal Glass Co., circa 1906. This early Federal Glass carnival pattern is called ‘Filed Rib’, and is quite scarce. ( Carnival glass production began in 1905 and continued through the 1920’s) An exquisite carnival glass example - this bowl has a vibrant, colorful marigold iridescence, with a smooth shiny interior and a fine ribbed zippered, or notched pattern over the entire exterior. This large ruffled bowl measures nearly 9 inches across the curvy, ruffled rim X 3 ½ inches high X 4 inches across the ring base. In Very Good condition with no chips or cracks, only a few minor surface scratches to be expected in 100 year old antiQue glass! A ReAL beauty, and a ‘classic’ carnival glass treasure! ** Federal Glass Co. began glassmaking in 1900, though most think of them as primarily a manufacturer of Depression glass.
