This lovely antique pattern glass pedestal compote was made by John Higbee Co. The original name for this eapg pattern was ‘Banner‘, but it is now more commonly known as ‘Floral Oval‘. This glass pattern is also known as ‘Cane and Sprig’ and ‘Pittsburgh Daisy‘. The ‘Floral Oval’ eapg pattern was first made by J. B. Higbee Glass Co., circa 1909, and then later produced by New Martinsville Glass Mfg. Co. around 1918. An Outstanding eapg pattern with a detailed cane design surrounding four large, dramatic ovals resembling flower petals, and a pretty floral design inside each oval. The cane pattern is repeated on the underside of the round base, as well. This is a MarVelous high-standard, stemmed compote with a shallow, square shaped, slightly ruffled bowl and a SweeT scalloped top rim. It measures 6 ¾ inches tall X 8 ½ inches across the widest part of the bowl X 4 inches across the round base. In Very Good condition, with a few surface scratches consistent with age, and one teensy tiny nick on the stem. Glows a nice yellow-green under uv blacklight to further verify age.
