This lovely antique Victorian glass Spooner is the eapg pattern called “Stippled Grape and Festoon”. Several companies produced Variations of this Eapg pattern, circa 1880 - 1890's, including Boston & Sandwich Glass Co., Portland Glass, and Doyle & Co. This variation is the scarcest of the ‘Grape and Festoon’ pattern - with a heavily stippled background, and the large leafy garland, or festoon, and 3 bunches of grapes and leaves nestled in-between - all in crystal, clear glass. This terrific antiQue spooner measures 5 1/8 inches tall X 3 1/4 inches across the scalloped top rim X 3 inches across the round pedestal base. In Excellent condition - with only the usual characteristics of antiQue Victorian made glass, ie. Some mold line / seam roughness, ‘straw marks’, or annealing lines, etc. No chips or cracks. Glows a lovely yellow-green under uv blacklight to further verify age!
