This fantastic, antique Victorian art glass 'Wavecrest' salt / pepper shaker was decorated by the C.F. Monroe Co., circa 1890's. This is their famous hand-painted floral decoration called 'Wave Crest'. Most C.F. Monroe Glassware was supplied by the Mount Washington Glass Company, and then hand-decorated at the Monroe factory. This fine, antiQue opaque opalware (milk glass) pillar shaped shaker pattern is typically referred to as 'Creased neck'. This Victorian shaker has the delicate, expertly hand painted `Wave Crest' décor in a gorgeous array of pastel colors and exquisite detail, with a yellow shaded background on the entire lower half. This is a Quite Remarkable example of 'Wavecrest' decorated Victorian Art Glass - Nearly perfect - with Very little wear to the gOrGeOus hand-painted details! Measures 4 inches tall and in ExCeLLent condition - With a Sterling silver two piece lid which is also in Great condition with some very minor dents!
