This cHaRmiNg hand painted Victorian glass salt, or pepper shaker, was made by the Mount Washington / Pairpoint Glass Co., circa 1892 - 1896. This Victorian art glass shaker pattern is called "Short Sphere" and is a mold blown, heavy, opaque white opalware glass - hand painted with dainty bluebell flowers. Measures (with lid) 2 1/4 inches tall - a Smooth sphere shape with slightly indented circular bottom and a two-piece metal top. Shown in Lechner's "Salt Shakers" Vol. 3, page 113. A SCARCE Mount Washington ART Glass shaker in VERY good condition with very little wear to the painted decoration and few very small dents in the two-piece 'applied' metal top.
