This is a piece I collected very early on in my jewelry experience. It is a large Scottish Agate Brooch which is 3 1/2" by 1 1/4" and weighs 20.3 grams. The Stones are 2 1/2" by 5/8" and are ringed in a detailed low carat gold chased surround.

I was mesmerized by the skill with which the different pieces of natural Agate are fit together in a handsome pattern. The brooch is in excellent estate condition except for an obvious reinforcement of one corner only visible on the back. This early piece is the kind of jewel that is enjoying a resurgence currently and is well worth your consideration.
