1940's TRIFARI Leaf Pin with Bug
This is a fun pin by Trifari designed in the 1940's. It is done with their beautiful enameling and some glass pearl accents but, if you look closely......you will see they added a small bug! It's a beetle, I think. I think that they might have made this design in a fur clip, too. When you study the back it is obvious that this was intended to be a pin from the start. There is no evidence of repair or additions an the rhodium plating is as smooth as silk. Also, Trifari's signature always appears on the clip mechanism of the fur clips and, if it had been converted to a pin, there would be no signature on it......but it is signed.
The condition is excellent with only very little wear on the enamel along the side of the pin and the rhodium plating on the back is shiny and lustrous. It measures 2 1/2" tall by almost 1 3/4" wide.
A collection of rare and hard to find vintage jewelry and collectibles.
