Sterling Silver Art Nouveau lady brooch. An art Nouveau lady brooch that is made out of great looking sterling silver. This piece is very old but you could never tell as the sterling silver metal is in outstanding condition. The pin is made in the form of a woman's head and face. The figure is wearing a large hat that is riddled with flowers that accent the pin wonderfully. The woman's long and flowing hair is coming out from the bottom of the hat and looks fantastic as well. This pin is so well made with every part of it looking almost lifelike. A great job from the designer of this silver lady brooch to get every intricate detail in the right place but this is a defining characteristic of Art Nouveau jewelry having a huge emphasis on fluid undulating lines. The back of the pin shows a very sturdy and well made "C" style clasp that holds perfectly. This pin is not signed as most of this style of pin wasn't. The "C" clasp and style dates the piece to the Art Nouveau period as this style is very popular in silver costume jewelry. The brooch measures 2 3/4" long by 1 1/2" wide.
