A pair of beautiful vintage Art Deco ceramic wolfhounds. These amazing statues are from the Art Deco period which dates between the 1920s and 1940s and are composed of a fine ceramic material. This pottery makes amazing Russian wolfhounds which look so beautiful. Both dogs are covered in a white glaze with a light blue glaze over the eyes and nose and a grey tone in parts to accent the dogs' fur. One hound is standing and facing forward as if it were looking off into the distance and the other is bent to the side ever so slightly. Both are damaged as the right front leg of the straight dog was broken but repaired and the other dog has a clean break to the left front leg but it has also been repaired. You can hardly notice the crack and both statues still stand and hold well. The straight pose dog measures 15" long from nose to tail and 10" tall and the bent dog measures 11" long from nose to tail and 9" tall. They both black tips on all the feet and tail bottoms so as to not damage any counter they sit on and other than the breaks which have been fixed they are in great condition with no chips or cracks anywhere else. A fine pair of vintage ceramic wolfhound dog statues.
