A timeless pair of Legras cameo glass enameled winter lake scene vases. This matching pair of vases was created by Auguste Legras in St. Denis, France sometime in the early 1900s. Legras began making glass wares in the mid 1860s and specialized in stunning works such as these vases. This pair is composed of a cameo glass with a lovely textured enameling which creates a unique winter scene of snow capped trees, lake, and grass. The top has a beautiful pink tone and the rim of the vases is accented by a gold trim which is worn a bit on one of the pieces. There is also a far off center island in deep blue with trees and bushes surrounding a small white cottage in the very middle of each vase. The base of both vases has textured green grass and the signature "Legras" is written in black lettering in this area. Both vases measure 10 1/2" long by 4 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/2" deep. They are in excellent condition with only the small wear to the gold trim on one vase. There is absolutely no wear to the enamel or glass. These magnificent creations are rare to find and make wonderful gifts for collectors.
