A gorgeous pair of French Legras mottled cameo glass and enamel landscape lake vases. These two signed Legras vases were made between 1900-1910 in St. Denis, France. These are the bread and butter works made by Auguste Legras near the turn of the Century. Legras began making glass wares around 1864 but really came into his own with works such as these two vases. They are composed of a fine mottled cameo glass decorated with enamel that makes a beautiful textured landscape image. This landscape is composed of a spring time scene depicting tall trees, green grass, flying ducks, and the surrounding lake. Each vase measures 10 1/4" long with a 3 1/8" diameter and 3 1/8" depth. The base of each vase is signed "Legras" in visible black letters and both are in excellent condition with no scratches or wear to the enamel. These lovely vases are the perfect home decoration and make great gifts for collectors of fine cameo glass.
