Shaill Jhaveri faux pearl and amethyst glass earrings. These earrings were made in 1993 by Internationally acclaimed designer Shaill Jhaveri for Elizabeth Taylor. Jhaveri based his inspiration for these earrings on the famous Crown Jewels of India which is his home country. The designer helped to create many pieces for Elizabeth Taylor which include the Shah Jehan necklace, Elephant Walk Collection, and the Sea Shimmer Collection. These earrings are exquisite being made with a fine gold tone metal base which has a large rectangle faceted amethyst glass stone at the top as well as a "V" shaped grouping of faux pearls under the stone. The base of the earrings suspends a single tear drop shaped faux pearl dangle. The earrings are clip backs which have small pads that make them wear comfortably on each ear. The earrings measure 2 3/4" long by 1 3/8" wide and are signed "Shaill Jhaveri" within an oval cartouche on the back side as well. These earrings are in great condition with no wear and are stunning having a quality design by two of the greatest jewelry designers of all time: Shaill Jhaveri and Elizabeth Taylor.
