A very special piece of collectible pottery by the Famous designer known as Sascha Brastoff. This piece of art was created sometime in the mid century 1950s-1960s time frame. It is composed of a white ceramic base which was dipped in a black glaze which is visible on the inside of the piece. For the outside of the piece there is a gorgeous gold glaze which is painted with unique round wheel designs and other ornate symbols that only the artist could make look so intriguing. Really this piece is a masterpiece as the interplay of gold tones on the outside almost gives the design depth. A really amazing creation. The bottom of the vase is marked "Sascha B" "R" with a circle around it and "066" which might be a makers number or may be the year it was created as in "1966". One way or another this piece is incredible and I have never seen anything like it before. The piece measures 6" long by 8" wide and 2 5/8" thick. The piece is in excellent condition other than a few minor scuffs on the inside of the item. A wonderful gift idea for the true art collector. This piece won't be on the shelves for long.
