Hattie Carnegie enamel and imitation pearl prancing horse brooch. This beautiful brooch is composed of a gold tone metal foundation which forms this prancing horse with it's left hoof pointing up as if the animal were a well trained show horse. The creature is covered in a black enamel that is set over the head, tail, body, and legs. The eye and nostril of the horse have faux pearl accents and the ears, mane, saddle, and horseshoes are all gold tone metal. This pin also has a plume set on the horse's back which is held in place by a gold tone metal spring and accented by white enamel. This spring is movable which adds a unique quality to the overall design. The back of this brooch has the pin and locking "C" clasp that holds well and the signature "Hattie Carnegie" is set within an oval cartouche on the back center. This brooch measures 1 1/4" long by 1 5/8" from head to tail. This horse brooch has some minor black enamel wear on the tail as well as some wear to the white plume. There is also a hole in the top of the head where another plume or faux pearl may have been. This could all be easily repaired and none of this damage takes from the overall beauty of this amazing prancing horse brooch from Hattie Carnegie.
