A vintage Boucher brooch with movable flower petals. This item is a very unique piece of Boucher costume jewelry known as the mechanical Day and Night pin made in 1948. It is made up of a gold tone metal base which forms a stem and leaf set around a center flower. The leaf has an openwork design and is accented by sparkling white rhinestones pave set on the edge and tip. The flower is made up of gold tone metal petals which are movable and close around the center bulb. The center of the flower has stamen that are tipped by bezel set white rhinestones and surround a center faux pearl flower bulb. The movable petals mimic the blossom of the flower. The back has a pin and locking "C" clasp which holds very well and the signature "Pat Pend". This item measures 2 3/8" long by 1 7/8" wide and is in excellent overall condition with no missing stones or wear to the metal.
