Trifari Lucite Jelly Belly Owl Fur clip. This magnificent figural piece is a jelly belly owl designed by Alfred Philippe in the 1940s. It is composed of sterling silver metal which has a light gold tone vermeil coating and is accented by pave set white rhinestones. This owl is perched on a small branch and has two green glass beads as eyes. Its body is made up of a large clear lucite jelly belly and the back has the two pronged fur clip which holds very well. The backside is also signed "Trifari Sterling" as well as "Des Pat No. 135191" which dates this piece to March 9th, 1943 according to Julia C. Carroll's 2007 book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202". This item measures 2 1/2" long by 1 1/8" wide and has no missing stones or wear.
