Vintage Adolfo for Mazer Op-Art simulated jade and enamel pendant necklace from the 1970s. Adolfo, a Cuban born fashion guru, apprenticed under such names as Balenciaga and Chanel as well as designing some pieces for Mazer in the 1970s. This is one of those pieces being a rare masterpiece made up of a nice gold plated metal link chain which attaches to the pendant by a large gold toned metal ring. This pendant is made up of a gold plated metal base which has a unique graduated gold toned metal rope style exterior. This design encompasses a navy blue enamel interior which meets with a centered rope design that surrounds the stunning simulated jade centerpiece. This piece is placed into an open-back setting that allows light to shine through the stone giving off a translucent glow that is remarkable. The back of the pendant is signed "Adolfo for Mazer" within a rectangular cartouche and the entire pendant measures 1 3/4" in diameter. The chain measures 18 1/2" long and the entire piece is in phenomenal condition with no wear. A tremendous Adolfo for Mazer necklace.
