A very unique piece of 800 silver made in Italy. Italian silver is often crafted out of metal with an 800 fineness which means that it is made of 80% genuine silver and 20% other metal such as copper, or nickel to make the finished product more stable. The piece actually is made in the form of a Venice canal boat with the paddling sailor at the end. These boats are famous in the canals of Little Venice in Italy. The design is riddled with openwork filigree motifs and the metal has been recently cleaned which makes it look like new. The back of the item has a pin and locking "C" clasp that holds great and the signature "800" is stamped onto the back of the clasp section as well. The pin measures 3/4" long by 2" in width and has no damage to the metal whatsoever. A very unique 800 silver Venice canal boat and sailor pin.
