A Hattie Carnegie insect pin from the 1930s. This piece is made up of a gold plated metal that forms the foundation for this creature pin. The butterfly is accented with two green rhinestones at the tips of it's antennae and it also has bezel set white rhinestones for the head and lower body parts. These stones are surrounding a bezel set marquise cut gemstone in the middle body section. The wings are covered in turquoise colored glass beads that are all damage free. The back of this brooch has a pin and locking "C" clasp and the signature "Hattie Carnegie" is within an oval cartouche. This butterfly also has a patent number that reads "Pat. 2066969" dating the brooch to 1937. The butterfly measures 1 1/2" long by 1 1/8" in width and has no wear or missing gems at all.
