Vintage Trifari Set known as the Jewels of Tanjore line of the 1940s. This specific set is gorgeous being composed of a pin and matching earrings with beautiful gemstone accents. The pin is great having a gold vermeil over a sterling silver foundation which makes up a very regal looking pin. This pin is regal as it looks as though it were made for a king or queen. The pin has sections of pave set white rhinestones along with green and blue baguette gemstones, red pear cuts, and a green triangular cut stone. These mix with red and blue glass cabochons and a lovely green oval brilliant cut gemstone set at the top of the pin. This item has a nice pin and clasp that holds well and is signed on the back reading "Trifari Sterling" and the patent number "Des. Pat. 142,658". This dates the piece to June 22nd, 1945. The earrings are great as well being made up of the gold plated sterling silver with pave set white rhinestones, bezel set green and red rhinestones, and a prong set oval brilliant cut red gemstone surrounding a large oval shaped blue glass cabochon. The back of the earrings have the clip-backs which hold well and the signature "Trifari sterling" is stamped on the back as well. These items come with copy sheets of the patent number with date, number, picture of the item, and a signature by Alfred Philippe and his attorney to show authenticity. We have taken pictures of these sheets that give dates for both the pin and earrings. The pin measures 3" long by 1 5/8" wide and each earring is 1 1/8" long by 7/8" in width. This set is in fabulous condition considering it's age and would fit very nicely into any Trifari or Jewels of Tanjore collections you might be building. A remarkable Trifari set from the Jewels of Tanjore collection series.
