Hattie Carnegie bakelite, plastic, and glass bead necklace. This amazing item is a one in a million piece of jewelry that shows Hattie Carnegie's attention to detail and high fashion taste. It in my opinion has one of the best compositions of all her pieces with regards to the design and jewels used to make it. This item has stunning marbled purple, blue, green and marbled green glass beads that are oblong and mishapped but look beautiful. These are mixed in with multi-faceted marbled purple and marbled olive and orange plastic beads that measure from 8mm in diameter to 18mm in diameter. The most wonderful part of this necklace are the gorgeous marbled red wine colored bakelite beads and the marbled forest green colored bakelite beads which measure from 7mm in diameter towards the top of the necklace to 18.5mm in diameter in the very center. All of these beads are strung onto a white cotton string and have tiny gold toned metal spacers between each bead. The necklace is fastened with a push release style clasp that seals into a large oval shaped gold toned metal set that has a large oval shaped marbled blue glass cabochon that glows from within and really jumps out at you. The back of this section is signed "Hattie Carnegie" inside of an oval cartouche and the shorter strand measures 17 1/4" long and the longer one is 18 1/2" in length. The bakelite has been 409 tested and every piece of this amazing necklace is in absolute tip top condition. A wonderful 1960s two strand Hattie Carnegie bakelite, plastic, and glass necklace.
