Antique Victorian mosaic mandolin pin. This item is gorgeous being composed of a nice gold tone metal foundation that holds tiny mosaic glass tiles that form a pretty floral motif on the instrument. The head and neck of the mandolin are composed of tiny white, black, and blue glass tiles that lead down to the body. This section is made up of small individual floral designs in the colors of blue, red, white, and green tiles. This surrounds a large pear shaped centerpiece that has a turquoise colored glass tile exterior surrounding a floral motif made up of green, red, white, yellow, orange, and black glass tiles. The back of this item has a gold toned metal pin and a tube or trombone style clasp that dates this item to around the 1890s. The pin is signed "Made In Italy" which surrounds a large "FAP" signature as well. This piece measures 1 3/4" long by 3/4" wide and is in phenomenal condition considering the age.
