A lovely vintage signed Napier collar choker necklace from the 'Natural Collection' line of 1985, with Lucite plastic geometric tiles in cream and light blue-grey. Evokes the Egyptian Revival feel.
Length: appr. 15 1/2 inches
The cream pieces are made to look like the organic material used for piano keys. There are gold-tone spacer beads between the plastic tiles. Up at the clasps, the wire used for stringing is a little kinky. One cream tile that faces front has some rubs on it; on the back side of the tiles, there are rubs or wear as well. The rest of the fronts are shiny. It appears the grey-blue stick were matte-type finish and are not shiny.
The necklace, along with matching earrings, is shown in Melinda Lewis's book. 'The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry' on page 580.
