A lovely brooch from the Victorian era features a clear, faceted, light purple stone in an unusual horse-shoe shape. The setting is beautiful: cannetille wirework in delicate rope and swirl patterns attractive millgraining. The stone – a lovely light purple that works complements the delicate setting – is set high for prominence. The brooch is unmarked, the setting appears to be a lightly gilded silver metal. It closes securely with a hooded c-clasp. It measures 1-1/4” by 1-1/8” and is in excellent condition.
