This Victorian era fob features the finely carved profile of a distinguished Greco-Roman soldier. The classic profile is framed by a horseshoe, a very popular Victorian motif. The carnelian is very dark in color – almost black in some lights – and is a lovely golden amber-brown when held up to the light. The carved stone is set in a rose-gold filled frame that is beautifully etched with a floral motif. The fob would look charming on a gold chain or bracelet. It measures 1” (not including the top ring) by 5/8”. Condition is excellent.
