This very lovely and classic necklace is from the 1950s or ‘60s. The nephrite jade beads are deep green (not as mottled as spinach jade) with subtle yet lovely variations within each 8 mm bead… overall, the beads are fairly well matched in color. The 6 mm culured pearls have a beautiful luster. The fish hook clasp is marked 14K. The hollow spacer beads are also 14K. (I acid tested the clasp and beads and both came out to be just slightly higher than 14K, but not as high as 18K.)
The jade beads are hand-knotted with silk; there are no knots between the pearls and gold spacer beads. All in all, a beautiful, classic piece that you’ll treasure for years to come.
