This art deco-era guilloche brooch is beautiful in its simplicity. The rectangular enameled area is the most beautiful shades of intense Caribbean blue, with a pattern that is reminiscent of clear, blue water. The metal onto which the enamel is applied is silver in color, but I do not know if it is sterling, as the piece is unmarked.
The back of the brooch is finished in deep blue-green enamel and a c-clasp closure. There is some wear visible on the back, the front is fine and the overall condition of the brooch is very good. The brooch is rectangular (measures 1-3/8” wide by 1” high) and curves very gently, which helps catch the light and create a sense of movement, adding to the look of water.
