Large and curvaceous, this dimensional bow brooch has a lovely satin finish and and a deep brownish red scarab at its center. The scarab is set in an oval frame with beaded border. The ribbon edges have a rope trim border, and a beaded border simulates fringe on the ends. The brooch is well made and substantial both in weight and size.It measure 2-1/4" by 2-1/4". The dimensionality is especially wonderful: the "ribbon" has all the curve and flow of real silk ribbon. The brooch is marked P.E.P. On the back, which is a mark used by Erwin Pearl early in the designer's career, possibly as early as the late 1960s. A beautiful, substantial piece with a unique interpretation of the ever-popular scarab jewelry.
