Antique Porcelain Figurine by Sitzendorf Dresden c. 1800’s - image 1 of 5

This is a fine quality figurine from the renowned German manufacturer Sitzendorf at the Voigt Brothers factory at Thuringia, and features a young woman in typical German attire, sitting on a tree stump with a music book on her lap. She has a garland of flowers on her head and the, most lovely expression on her face. The measurement is 5 inches high and 2-1/4"inches across the base. She comes in very good condition, with no chips or cracks there is however slight wear to the gold edging on the music book. Fully marked with the Sitzendorf under glazed blue, crossed lines (slash marks) and the indented numbers 224 and a red number 12.The double slash mark is one of the earliest marks dating back to when the Voigts were in charge of production from 1858 to 1896. Sitzendorf is just one of the German porcelain makers referred to as Dresden. This little lady is gorgeous, and a must for the music lover, and, or the German porcelain collector.
