A great Fencing Print by the always popular Vanity Fair, from March 9, 1905. Vanity Fair Supplement. The man pictured is Egerton Castle (March 12, 1858 – September 16, 1920). He was a Victorian era author, antiquarian, and swordsman, and an early practitioner of reconstructed historical fencing. He was born in London.
The caption reads "He insists that his pen is mightier than his sword". . Coloured. Overall size c. 8x14 ins. By Spy. Original, not a photo copy. Newly framed with acid free mat. Condition is great. Framed measures 17 3/4" x 12 3/4".
