This piece of Birch was cut straight on two sides and then torn along a natural seam in the wood. I love this for the bend in the pendant also, it doesn't sit flat as you can see from the side view. The blue 'window' is a natural woodpecker hole that was filled with color and then resin for protection. A very unique piece, it hangs from beneath a sterling cap and hung on an 18" long stainless steel snake chain.
Pendant length 2 1/4 " including bail Width 3/4" at widest point.
My line of birch bark jewelry is made only from the bark of fallen trees. The bark is dried, cleaned and selected for use. It is then cut or torn, shaped, sanded and sealed which enhances the color and durability of the bark. Clean when needed with a gentle wipe of a jewelers cloth.
