The matte finish on these lamp work beads brings out the detail in the patterns and the richness of the colors that make these earrings so special. All the beads are from the same set, handmade from a glass artist renowned for her rich, color infused work. The beads hang from sterling wires and are topped with delicate leaf pattern Hill Tribe silver. All other findings are sterling.

A note about Hill Tribe Silver. Hill Tribe silver beads are distinctive and hand-made by Karen Hill Tribe artisans of the mountain regions of Northern Thailand using methods passed down through the centuries. They are made from almost pure silver, 99.5-99% compared to sterling. Although Karen Silver is available though many venues, I purchase mine through a community dedicated to preserving the culture and craftsmanship of the Hill Tribe people. Profits go directly back to the community. For this reason, some pieces using a lot of Karen silver may be a bit more expensive. A small price to pay to prevent the exploitation of these fine artisans.
