I am offering a stunning late Victorian necklace designed with a red carbuncle style stone and 6 blue sapphire colored marquise stones. I do not know the composition of the stones. Research indicates that many of the carbuncle style stones are actual garnets; I have seen some carbuncles that are listed as glass. The sapphire colored stones are foiled and held in place by prongs. I note no damage to the stones. The stones are set in a gray colored metal. That entire setting is soldered to a pendant that appears to be brass or goldplated; I tested for gold and it is not 14k or 10k. The goldtone metal exhibits age related discoloration; much has been removed with cleaning. The 23 1/2" double link chain is rolo style; it also exhibits age related discoloration. This is an eye catcher!
