Up for your consideration is a vintage paper mache and cotton filled Santa Claus. Santa is on cardboard skis and is attached to them with wire that comes through his legs. The skis are 7" long, with a Santa that is @ 4 7/8" tall x 1 3/8" wide. The underside of the skis is marked Japan.
I note some loss of the brown paint on the skis, here or there. The cotton clothing is intact, but has age related patina. One eye has flaked off of the paper mache face. The beard also appears to be spun cotton. The paper belt may have some minor flaking, but nothing obvious. Both skis have a bend that has created a break in the paint finish; I would add a little glue to reinforce this area if he were mine Fortunately, the skis are attached in the center, which also gives them stability. The blue backpack is stuffed with straw or shredded paper and has a drawstring at the top.
This is a very nice collectible for your collection.
