Purchased at an estate auction is an old ornate chunky ring with what I think is a brass setting. It is set with black glass or onyx, with and edge finished with black enamel. There are remnants of old glue on the enamel and on the side band. The ring is adjustable and is currently a size 6 1/2. The ring setting is 3/4" x 1/2", with an open back. There is some chippage on the top edge of the stone. additionally, it appears it was never set well; the one prong does not encompass the stone. I thought it was such an interesting statement piece! It actually reminds me of a hat. It needs further cleaning; the tarnish will clean away.
