William Hutton & Sons (1870-1893) made this exceptional three part silverplate dish. A large shell is flanked by a pair of smaller shells. The handle is designed as a piece of curving seaweed. Near its base is a starfish. The reverse of the piece is just as handsome as the front side. We see three silver shells acting as feet. The hallmarks are clearly shown including WH & S for the maker. The piece is 11 inches across by 10 the shorter direction. It is 5 inches high with the handle.
