Antique Sterling English Figural Reindeer Napkin Ring 1903
This is a remarkable item: a figural napkin ring which is sterling. It took an expert silversmith to make this unusual napkin ring. A reindeer pulls the ring on which sits a man with reins and a whip. The ring is English and bears a full set of hallmarks: the sterling symbol, the year it was made 1903, Birmingham, the city in which it was made, and the maker's mark J&C. There is amazing detail in the reindeer, the man, and the manner in which the ring is attached to the reindeer. The length is 4 inches so this ring has significant size. It weighs 1.4 ounces on a postal scale.
