is now SOLDPictured on page 75 of the reference book, "Oyster Plates" by Jim and Vivian Karsnitz this beautifully decorated French Limoges oyster plate has a handsome multiscalloped mold. Sponged gilding highlights the beautiful exterior shape of this oyster plate by Tressemann and Vogt. The central raised design is accented by gilding. There are five de3ep wells decorated on their edge with an oak leaf and acorn garland circling the plate. The plate has has five rectangular lozenge feet. On the back is the red bell mark with T V and France below the bell. There is also "T&V" in green with France. This plate dates from the late nineteenth century, the Belle Epoch for oyster plates. The diameter is 7.75 inches. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, hairlines, or repairs.
