This wonderful American figural napkin ring features a Kate Greenaway girl holding a parasol, and on the other side of the ring is her dog. The scalloped ring itself is on a pedestal. The detail is outstanding: the clothing, her hat, and even her parasol. The napkin ring is 4 inches tall and most impressive. It was made by the James W. Tufts Company of Boston and is so marked on the bottom, along with the number 1590. This napkin ring is pictured and discussed at length on page 235 of the book Figural Napkin Rings by Gottschalk and Whitson. It merits their highest possible rating of A+. This is one of the most desirable figural napkin rings and extremely hard to find.
