This antique sterling napkin ring, created by Woodside Sterling Co. of New York City, has outstanding workmanship. The company was active from 1896 until the 1920's. There are two fine applied clusters of four leaf clovers and clover flowers - one on the top border and the other on the bottom border. The shapes of the leaves determine the border. On either side of the borders is a design of scallops and small flowers. The diameter is 1 7/8 inches and the (maximum) height is 1 5/8 inches. On the interior is engraved "1901". There is also "Sterling" and the maker's mark for Woodside (a "W" inside a circle). The napkin ring has a three letter monogram. The napkin ring weighs 35.6 grams (1.26 ounces).
