Here is a coin silver napkin ring which is clearly American; it dates from about 1870. Little distinction was made between coin silver and sterling silver in those days, and this ring does not have any hallmarks. It does have beautiful floral repousse work. The diameter is 2 inches (it tapers down toward the middle), and the width is 1.5 inches. It weighs 1.3 ounces. The cartouche has the name "Seward". The napkin ring is in excellent condition.
