This charming American antique figural napkin ring appears on page 284 in the book Figural Napkin Rings by Gottschalk and Whitson. She is described as "a smart looking young lady with arms akimbo". There is a male companion to this piece which is usually referred to as "The Dapper Young Man." Everything about the napkin ring shows quality: her features, her clothing, even the napkin holder itself with its fluted edges and surface decoration. There is no indication as to maker, but the authors of the book determined that the maker was the Barbour Silver Company of Hartford, Connecticut. The piece is in extraordinary condition and ready to decorate a table.
